September News

Celebrations:

1. "It was awesome to see the scholars who are new to WHS this year, they really tried to find their way on their own.  I also saw many ask for help finding their classrooms if they didn't know." ~ Lucy Todachinnie

2. "We have had so much fun getting to know each other in Raider Studio! Scholars also did an amazing job tying our Raider Studio Rules to our commitments in our disclosure statements: I shall have fun, I can learn from my mistakes, I am tracking my progress, not comparing myself to others, and I can dare to be different." ~ Georgiana Simpson

3. "I notice scholars excited to learn in the first days of school, as well as scholars getting ready to engage by asking for club open disclosure forms.  :)" ~ Kim Dee

4. "There is such a great climate in our school right now. Our new scholars are still learning the layout of our school and I see staff everywhere taking the time to help them navigate their schedules. Thank you, everyone!" ~ Jacque Whitaker

Safety Spot:

If you something, say something . . . on SafeUT.

Academic Focus:

Teachers post and explain SUCCESS CRITERIA. This information can be used by scholars to progress from a new learner to proficient on the new skills/knowledge to mastery. A scholar who reaches mastery is able to teach others the skills/knowledge. Along the way, scholars will select the strategy that will best help them to reach mastery.
