Celebrations
A BIG thank you to Sylvia, Gail, and Tyra who keep our Front Office running smoothly, arrange for substitutes, assist in connecting school to families, purchase and receive purchase order items, manage school lunch funds, facilitate the spend plan/fee waiver processes, manage enrollment information, and help answer questions from families/community members . . . our school is so fortunate to have these professionals working with us!
UNITY Club supported Earth Awareness Week . . . wearing specific colors, walking the track, planting seeds, tye dye, and trash pick up!
Almost 30 scholars improved their Lexile Level 100 points (or better) between September and January so they are earning a Raider Spirit Shirt . Encourage all scholars to do their best on all tests, including the Reading Inventory which begins May 6 (and yes, we have more Raider Spirit Shirts available)!
Attendance during 1st hour has improved throughout the month of April; remember, "Time spent in school is an investment in your future!"
Academic Focus
Standards Based Grading (SBG) focuses on learning and helps increase achievement. SBG breaks down the subject matter into smaller “learning targets”. Each target is a teachable concept that scholars should master by the end of the course. Teachers track learning progress, give feedback, and adapt instruction. The Summative category is currently weighted at 60% (and not yet 70% or 100%).
