Parents please be aware that the window to provide input into what fees will be charged in our secondary schools has opened. State Law requires every fee that a parent might be charged in our secondary schools to be approved by the District Board of Education after the public has had two opportunities to provide input. No fees can be charged in elementary schools. Secondary school fees for the upcoming school year must be approved by April 1st of the preceding year. On our January board agenda, one can find the spend plans and Program Sustainability Fee Schedule. (cut and paste link below) Spend plans are intended to let parents know the maximum that could be charged if their child participates in a sport or activity. Give them a look. Contact your local school administrator or school board member if you have questions or would like to provide input. We value your input! https://go.boarddocs.com/ut/sjsd/Board.nsf/vpublic?open#tab-meetings

This is the most important virtual day of ALL time! We have been given the opportunity for tomorrow’s emergency virtual day to act as a full day of school. We are looking to replace this model of instruction when the weather does not permit safe travel to and from the school. This is only if we can get a good percentage of our students to participate. The alternative would have been that we canceled school and we would have to make it up on April 10th, the Monday following Easter. So, please take full advantage of the opportunity we are being given to participate in school virtually for the day. Teachers will be reaching out to you via email/Canvas messenger in the morning. The teachers will send you a message regarding a suggested schedule, instructions on where to find the curriculum, and a way to get a hold of them if you need help. This will all be sent to the email that we have on file at the school. If you have not received an email by 9:30 am, then please reach out to the school at (435)678-1301. We will be answering phone calls all day. We will be able to connect you to whomever you need to reach, so please feel free to call. I will also be available via email all day. If you are having problems you can reach me at rnielson2@sjsd.org Teachers will send you a link to their google meet classroom to answer any questions or so that you can ask for advice on how best to help your child participate for the day. Their google meet link will be sent to your email by 9 am. Then teachers will answer questions until 11:00 am in the Google Meet. If you don’t need to speak with the teachers there is no need to attend the Google Meet. Active participation in the language arts and math lessons tomorrow will count for your child’s daily attendance. Please call or email the school by 9 am if your child will not be participating in the virtual day. If LeeAnn does not answer, please leave a message. We will then get them excused and their teacher will not continue to reach out to you throughout the day. I am excited about this opportunity for a virtual day instead of a makeup day later. I hope that we can have as many people complete their tasks as possible. I know that there will be some kinks in the process, but if we can work through them we will perfect this process for later. Please feel free to let us know anything that can help improve a virtual learning experience in the future. Thank you for your help and let's do the best that we can tomorrow. Additional resources: If there is a technology question that can’t be answered by your teacher SJH’ Tech Coach is Marcus Conway. He will be available to assist you via email at mconway@sjsd.org . In addition, he will set up a Google Meet appointment if needed to help resolve any technical questions. Below is a suggested schedule for students to follow. Secondary Virtual Learning Schedule 9:00-11:00: Get Support from individual teachers 9:00: 5th Period 9:45: Break 9:50: 6th Period 10:35: Break 1040: 7th Period 11:25: Break 11:30: 8th Period 12:15: Lunch 12:45: Homework, Academic Lab/Bronco Time, Email Teachers or Access Tutoring

Message from UHSAA this morning: Right now the online tickets show sold out, I have been assured that there will be tickets available at the site. As people leave the games played before you they are counting the number of people that leave the stadium and will open up that many more tickets for your fans. I have been assured that fans will have tickets for the first 3 games! Tell your people to come and get tickets on site!
